These are listed approximately in order by priority, along with estimates
of when each feature is likely to be completed, if known.
- Mesh anisotropy. There are two (possibly) related issues here: anisotropy
meshing and anisotropic mesh refinement.
- Anisotropic refinement, beginning with anisotropic tri/tet meshes
and moving eventually to anisotropic mixed-element meshes. (2009 thesis
completion for 2D; 3D currently in progress)
- Mixed-element meshing, including quadrilaterals in two dimensions
and pyramids, prisms, and hexahedra in three dimensions. (2D: possibly
as early as 2011) Ideally, we'd like to be able to produce mixed-element
meshes after anisotropic refinement as well.
- Parallelism. We are currently working to parallelize GRUMMP, including
both its internal operations and an API for parallel access to data
structures (this is part of the ITAPS project).
